We’re excited to spotlight Alice Shaff, a mission-driven cybersecurity professional whose work bridges technical acumen, trust-building, and deep community engagement. Currently focused on enterprise engagement in a high-level cyber sales role, Alice has recently guided multiple enterprise accounts into proof-of-concept stages after months of strategic effort not as a sales quota goal, but as a trust-building initiative that created real value. She also made a notable impact by connecting two CISOs from large organizations to foster peer exchange and cybersecurity dialogue.
Beyond her client work, Alice is a connector at heart. She’s referred over 10 candidates for manufacturing cybersecurity roles in the past month alone with 8 landing interviews and actively matches talent to opportunity through her professional network. As a second-time immigrant working remotely with an East Coast territory, Alice draws strength from the cybersecurity community, especially as a woman navigating the field. She mentors regularly, champions peer learning, and leads with generosity seeing each act of support as a way to pay it forward.
Her journey into cybersecurity reflects both intention and courage: leaving Google Cloud during the pandemic to pursue a more mission-driven path, Alice has embraced continuous learning recently earning a certification in the EU Cyber Resilience Act. She believes strongly in the importance of data protection at every level and reminds others that “it’s never too late to change your path.” For Alice, helping others find jobs or mentoring future cyber leaders isn’t just fulfilling it’s fundamental to how she defines success.
My biggest recent professional win was the successful engagement of a few enterprise accounts into a proof of concept (POC) following over six months of dedicated work. This was a significant trust win in a high-level cybersecurity context, as it was driven purely by adding value rather than a direct sales goal. On the networking front, I was proud to connect two CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers) from large enterprises to facilitate peer exchange. Separately, I've also been focused on giving back to the community by providing job referrals for manufacturing cybersecurity roles; in the past month, I referred about ten candidates, and I’m thrilled that eight of them have already secured interviews by actively matching them with open roles based on my conversations with hiring managers.
Community has been essential, particularly because sales is fundamentally a team sport. As a second-time immigrant working a remote East Coast territory, I've found incredibly strong support within the cyber community, especially as a woman in the field. I strive to pay that support forward by regularly mentoring other women in cybersecurity, actively encouraging peer learning, collaboration, and professional growth. The very act of taking the time to share and support one another, exemplified by opportunities like this interview itself, demonstrates the powerful, lifting impact of our professional community.
My core philosophy is that helping others always pans out. Beyond any professional reward, I find it incredibly fulfilling—for instance, helping people find the right job is a deeply rewarding experience. This belief is what drove me to leave Google Cloud during the pandemic to pursue a more mission-driven path in cybersecurity. I want to emphasize that securing data, whether at the national, corporate, or personal level, is one of the most vital missions today. Crucially, remember that it’s never too late to change your path. I strongly encourage everyone to embrace lifelong learning and continuous growth. Deepening your domain expertise, through formal certifications like the EU Cyber Resilience Act I recently completed, or through informal study in areas like compliance, will always pay dividends and keep your career resilient.
